Everyone wants to know what’s going to happen next. It’s in our DNA, imprinted into our human nature. People who present themselves as having ability to foretell the future often make a handsome living preying on the gullible and clueless.
Even the early disciples of Christ were not immune to this. Forty days after His glorious resurrection Yahshua was speaking to a crowd of about 500. Someone asked the question that was on everybody’s mind: “Will You at this time restore the Kingdom to Israel?”
It was a good question, and Yahshua gave a good answer.
“It is not for you to know the times and the seasons which the Father has put in His own power.”
The times and the seasons, those things still to come, future events are all the divine domain of Yahweh. We are not to worry or concern ourselves with these things, because they are all in Father’s hands. Christ told us that each day has its own concerns and that we are not to worry about tomorrow. Besides, of all the magnificent promises that God has made, tomorrow is not one of them.
Live for today, live for Christ. And even though there are fortune-tellers and prognosticators and so-called prophets proclaiming details of future events (usually for a price), just remember this:
It is not for you to know.
Be strong, be obedient, be blessed!
